the Gallery The
gallery is located in an historic Victorian style home in the heart of
the city. The Arctic Experience Gallery, established by Marvin and Lorraine
Cohen, first opened to the public in 1983, and specialized in the sculpture
of the Canadian Inuit (Eskimo) artists. The Arctic Experience Gallery
moved to its present location in the fall of 1993. Through a unique association
with Janet McNaught of the McNaught Gallery, it now offers a full range
of gallery products and services.

sculpture from Cape Dorset, Baffin Island in the new territory of Nunavut.
Inuit sculpture has long been regarded as the truly uniquely Canadian art
form, and Cape Dorset is home to some of the best artists working
in the Canadian Arctic.
Gallery owners Marvin and
Lorraine Cohen spent many years living in the Arctic and travel to Cape
Dorset for frequent visits and buying trips.

| The Cohens' terrific experience
living and working amongst the Inuit people on Baffin Island
transformed the gallery owners from collectors to dealers of this remarkable
art form. Their frequent buying trips to the Arctic communities enable
them to provide the gallery clientele with the very best quality works,

In 1993, the Arctic Experience
Gallery formed a unique association with the McNaught Gallery, to provide
similar high quality and value in Canadian paintings and prints. Paintings
of landscape and nature form the major emphasis of the gallery, and provide
a beautiful complement to the fine Inuit sculpture. Gallery director
Janet McNaught represents celebrated professional artists from the local
area and across Canada. The McNaught Gallery
paintings enhance the vast display of Inuit Sculpture.
